Kostenets: ideal location with services to match

Every thing is done to make your stay at our Bulgarian holiday retreat as convenient and enjoyable as possible.
Included in our self catering package is airport pick up and transfer from and to Sofia airport.
We supply a food pack that includes: Tea, coffee, juices/cordials, milk, sugar, bread, butter, Marmite, jams, cereals, eggs, cheese, ham, meat, fish, baked beans, potatoes, vegetables and fresh fruit.
Electricity, water, wood for fire, Internet access. A local English speaking representative and a maintenance man will be available to assist you in your every need during your stay.
We also have an exclusive take away service from a local restaurant in Kostenets.

All you need to do is arrange your stay with us, book your flights and then let us and Bulgaria do its very best.

Optional Extras to our standard Self-Catering package

You can opt for a daily maid service - the duties could include:- daily cleaning, bed making, personal washing and ironing.
We have an arrangement with a local firm, which supplies a reliable and very reasonably priced taxi service. (Rural public transport services in Bulgaria are not very convenient)
Trips to Greece and tours of Bulgaria can be organised.
Car hire can be arranged.
Additional security requirements can be provided. If you have any special needs please tell us. We are here to ensure your holiday in wonderful Bulgaria is as enjoyable and trouble free as possible.

Kostenets

A supermarket is open daily from 8am and fresh produce market stalls are open most days where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables.
Kostenet's restaurant provides the local/regional dishes as well as an English menu (4 minutes walk from the house).
In the town center (a leisurely 10 minute walk) can be found banks, 2 small boutiques, chemist and numerous other small shops in which you will find many friendly people.
Also in the town center are to be found several café/bars with outside seating where one can relax and sample the Bulgarian laid back way of life.
On the main street there is a disco open on Friday and Saturday nights.
There is a very good street market in the town center on Saturday mornings – prices very competitive.
A new public swimming pool is a quiet 20 minutes walk away

Skiing Resorts near to Kostenets

In the Rila mountains, Borovets is Bulgaria's oldest winter's sports resort. The skiing season at Borovets is from mid-December to mid-April. It has 3 chair lifts, 1 gondola, and 10 drag lifts. Bansko, (slopes are actually at Shiligarnika) is a popular ski resort in the Pirin mountains to the south; offering cheaper skiing.

Culture and Sightseeing

Sofia has a lot to offer: Sofia Music Week during June, National Art Gallery & Ethnographic Museum, Borisova Gradina (a vast park), National Gallery of Foreign Art, Sofia Municipal Gallery of Art (modern Bulgarian art) to name but a few worthy places to explore.

Plovdiv, is the second largest city in Bulgaria and a cultural hot spot. It has an ancient Roman amphitheatre (still used) and from March round to October it stages festivals; Young Poets, Trakiya Folk festival, Jazz and Symphonic Music.

Tucked away in a forested valley of the Rila mountains is Rila Monastery the centre of pilgrimage in Bulgaria. Its beautifully decorated church and relics draws visitors year round.

Botanists, birdwatchers, walkers and hikers

The Pirin National Park is a botanist's and birdwatcher's delight and a hiker's haven. Its rugged landscape of granite mountains, pristine lakes and highland valleys are criss-crossed with trails and walks. To get the best from this area, a UNESCO World Heritage site, it is recommended that you hire a mountain guide from the local tourist office.

Clubbing and shopping in Sofia

40 minutes away Bulgaria's capital, Sofia, has a lively night life and the Tzum shopping mall in The Largo has 3 stories of boutiques, cafes, and shops selling luxury goods and souvenirs.

Children's Attractions

Sofia Land is the capital's theme park and near by is Sofia Zoo, free to under sevens.
